🌐 Ally, MeowNet Explorer & New Discoveries!

Purrgatory OS got one of its biggest updates yet! This little fake operating system keeps growing into the weird computer I always dreamed of making, and I'm honestly having way too much fun building it.

• 📺 Ally has officially joined Purrgatory OS! If you've ever used an old computer, you might remember a certain paperclip that liked to pop up and offer help. Ally is my version of that. They live inside Purrgatory OS, occasionally pop in with tips, jokes, and little comments, and may or may not tease you if they catch you listening to the same songs over and over again.
• 🌐 MeowNet Explorer is now online! Yes... I built a web browser inside my website. You can browse around without ever leaving Purrgatory OS. Some websites happily load inside MeowNet, while others block being displayed inside an iframe, so MeowNet opens those in a normal browser window instead. We literally spent hours coding this, but it was absolutely worth it.
• 📒 The Collection Book has grown! New collectibles have been added around Purrgatory OS, including a new diary collectible. Keep exploring because you never know what might unlock next.
• 🕷️ Diary.exe received a brand new entry! I wrote about going to see Spider-Man: Brand New Day with my dad and my son. The entry also includes photos from our night at the movies.
• ✨ Lots of behind-the-scenes improvements. Windows have been polished, bugs have been fixed, and Purrgatory OS feels smoother and more alive than ever.

Every time I sit down to work on this website, I end up adding "just one more thing"... and somehow several hours disappear. Thank you for exploring my little corner of the internet. I hope Purrgatory OS makes you smile as much as building it has made me.

👤 Me.exe, Tiny Floppy Disks & Archer Valentine

I added a proper Me.exe application for anyone who cares to get to know the person behind Purrgatory OS. It has a little Polaroid, some facts about my life, my family, my animals, the things I love, and a bit about how I got here.

Purrgatory OS also finally has its own favicon: a tiny pastel-pink floppy disk with a cat-face sticker. It now shows up in browser tabs, bookmarks, and on supported phone home screens, which feels like an extremely small detail that somehow made the whole site feel much more official.

Archer Valentine has also officially made his presence known on MeowAmp. His songs now appear first in the playlist, starting with “Bitter Bee” because it fits the entire Pink Bliss vibe of this site perfectly.

There is still plenty of other music in MeowAmp too, so it has not become an Archer-only station... although you should absolutely listen to him, because every song he makes is a bop.

And now I am calling it for the day because I desperately need a nap before my son comes home. Later, we are going to the movies to see Spider-Man: Brand New Day, so Purrgatory OS is officially entering sleep mode until further notice. 🕷️🍿

💾 New Apps Installed!

This was a huge update! Purrgatory OS keeps growing into the tiny operating system I always imagined.

• 💾 Diary.exe has been installed! Some diary entries unlock collectibles.
• 📒 Collection Book is now its own application and saves discoveries made around Purrgatory OS.
• 💌 VisitorLog.exe replaces the old embedded guestbook. Stop by and leave me a message before you head out! ♡
• 🐾 TamaNOTchi.exe now lets you visit and feed Yumi without leaving Purrgatory OS.
• Added the first diary collectible: 💾 The Old Internet.
• Added a new desktop collectible: 🐝 Do Not Disturb.
• More hidden collectibles and secrets have been tucked around the desktop... happy exploring! ✨

Purrgatory OS finally has its own music player! I wanted something you could just press play on and let it soundtrack your visit while you click around the desktop.

Don’t worry if the player gets in your way—just click the _ minimize button. The music will keep playing while you explore, just like the old days.

The Desktop Got a Makeover

The desktop received a glossy pink Windows XP-style makeover while keeping all apps, secrets, collectibles, and cat-related nonsense intact.

The loading screen, password login, AIM, MeowAmp, Paint, mail, sticky notes, calendar, and Collection Book are officially running.
